Afghani

The broad-leaflet drug cannabis traditionally grown in Afghanistan and neighbouring Pakistan and Central Asia, long used for hashish. Botanists group it apart from the narrow-leaflet drug types of South Asia, Africa and Latin America. Western breeders later used Afghan seed as the stocky, fast-flowering half of many hybrids. The name covers a regional population, not one fixed variety.
